WHAT IS NET-METERING

Your solar panels generate electricity. When your system produces more power than you use, the excess electricity is sent back to the grid.

A bi-directional meter measures both the electricity you draw from the grid and the electricity you send back.

The excess electricity you send to the grid is credited against the electricity you draw from the grid . Your utility bill reflects the net amount of electricity you’ve given them (total consumption minus total generation), resulting in electric company owing you credits.
